After completing classroom training, you will complete a 7 week externship as a medical assistant.  This opportunity provides you with first-hand experience working in the medical field.  This is a chance for you to apply the skills you’ve learned in the classroom to use, as well as gain on-the-job experience that can give you an advantage in the competitive job market.

 

Where can a medical assistant work?

Medical assistants can work in a variety of healthcare settings.  The job can vary day to day depending on the current needs of that facility.  Possible employment locations include but are not limited to the following: hospitals, medical centers, physician offices, medical specialty clinics, medical transcription agencies, laboratories, and emergency rooms.
