Admissions Policy

The success of every student is the ultimate goal of OIC Training Academy. Individuals applying for admission to any OIC program must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.   Applicants must complete the admissions process, including an application, personal interview, and preadmission testing. Prospective students must achieve minimum scores in reading and math to be accepted. OIC reserves the right to select candidates based on their ability to be successful in the program, their motivation to complete the program, and their desire to obtain employment. All students participate in a financial aid evaluation to determine financial aid options available.

Students entering any program must have never been convicted of any felony or misdemeanors involving theft, drug activities, abuse or neglect, or DUI within the last seven years. In order to be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician, candidates must complete a background check for the West Virginia State Board of Pharmacy.

Students enrolling in any program are required to complete a Statement of Health document. Additionally, students in the Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant programs will be given the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination. Students must sign a written waiver if they do not wish to receive this vaccination.
